Kung Po ChickenYou know how it is: 3pm comes and goes and your working on a press release for 5pm. Lunch hasn’t happened yet so you nip down to The New Empire for a 5 minute Chinese to keep your brain cells ticking. Problem is that when you get back to the keyboard you’ve forgotten everything you were supposed to have in your email: Your brain has shut down and you have the memory of and senile goldfish.

It turns out that the Chinese may have been responsible (the lunch, not the people).

An article in Science Daily says that adults with type 2 diabetes who eat unhealthy, high-fat meals may experience memory decline immediately afterward, but this can be offset by taking antioxidant vitamins with the meal.

We already know that there is growing evidence linking diabetes to cognitive complications in humans. Adults with type 2 diabetes are especially vulnerable to acute meal-induced memory deficits after eating unhealthy foods.

This latest study, led by Baycrest and published in the July issue of Nutrition Research, suggests that taking high doses of antioxidant vitamins C and E with the meal may help minimize those memory slumps.

Next time you feel the lunch slump at work that its brown rice with the Kung Po Chicken: it’s better than sprinkling it with crushed up Rubex.

Anne and Frank Byrne after establishing themselves as new residents of Marbella in Spain were confronted with Anne being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, being in her mid forties it was very unexpected.

She found herself trying to get to grips with a new lifestyle, one that meant giving up on one of her passions in life - SUGAR.

She visited her local doctor and was presented with a very brief conversation on the Do’s and Don’ts in the form of a leaflet and a prescription for some medication.

While trying to understand her changed circumstances, she decided to do some investigation into the information supplied to her.

The modern world is entrenched in a love hate affair with sugar. It proliferates throughout our daily diet, we crave it, we adore it and yet it destroys our health.

Our passion for the substance has created epidemic levels in such areas as diabetes and obesity.  It seems an addiction beyond the control of its victims.

There is a solution. Zsweet® is a sugar alternative, with a low glycemic index, that is proven harmless to blood sugar levels.  A clinical study by the Glycemic Index Laboratories in Toronto has shown that Zsweet has an ultra low glycemic response in humans. This means that diabetics can use Zsweet safely.

The product is made from an a natural ingredient called Erythritol, which originates in

grapes and  melons and has been approved by the E.U. in February ‘08.

Zsweet  is the result of years of research by a small American Company who’s staff have all been affected by diabetes. The company’s mission is to find and adopt low glycemic index, food alternatives of the highest integrity and quality that taste good and are healthy.

Zsweet looks, feels and tastes just like regular sugar and unlike artificial sweeteners has no aftertaste. It can be used in teas, coffees and is perfect sprinkled over breakfast cereals. It is also ideal for cooking with equivalent measures to sugar (it even browns in the same way).

Zsweet is a refreshing alternative not just for those struggling with obesity or diabetes, but for anyone interested in an all natural product that does not contain artificial sweeteners. The commonly used sugar alternatives - saccharin, aspartame or sucralose - have long been subject to links with cancer.

There are no such worries with Zsweet, which is healthy and delicious. Indeed, the Z stands for zero calories, zero glycemic impact, zero aftertaste… and zero worries

Says Cormac Walsh: “We’ve got the backing of doctors, nutritionists and other health professionals, who all agree that Zsweet is great for anyone looking for a natural, zero calorie alternative to sugar or artificial sweeteners.”

Life can be sweet again, with Zsweet® . the all natural
alternative to sugar

A new, all natural sugar substitute, containing no potentially harmful ingredients, has
launched this week in both the UK and Ireland. Zsweet (www.zsweet.eu), which
contains no calories, is aimed at both health conscious consumers who wish to lose
weight and those with diabetes.

Zsweet (www.zsweet.eu) is a refreshing alternative for anyone concerned about
currently available artificial sweeteners that contain saccharin, aspartame or
sucralose. A great deal of debate surrounds the connection between such artificial
sweeteners and cancer, and so regular use should be approached with caution.

There are no such worries with Zsweet, which is a healthy and delicious sugar
substitute. Indeed, the Z stands for zero calories, zero glycemic impact, zero
aftertaste… and zero worries. Zsweet contains no artificial components . not even in
trace amounts.

Having established what isn’t in Zsweet (www.zsweet.eu), what is? Zsweet is a blend
of erythritol and natural fruit extracts, which enhance the flavour. Erythritol is a
naturally derived sugar substitute made from plant sugars that looks and tastes very
much like sugar. It’s found in grapes, melons, pears and even in the human body.

Erythritol has not been found to affect blood sugar or insulin levels and has a zero
glycemic index, which is why Zsweet is a great alternative sugar substitute for
diabetics and pre-diabetics.

Indeed, diabetes is the driving force behind Zsweet. It’s a small, US based company in
which everyone has been affected by the disease. Founder Tim Avila has himself seen
loved ones grow very ill with diabetes. However, the company believed from the start
that life could be sweet again for sufferers, who could stop worrying about the
harmful effects of sugar and bad tasting sugar substitutes. They could also have peace
of mind about hidden calories or rising blood sugar levels.

In short, Zsweet (www.zsweet.eu) set out to make the best tasting, zero calorie, all
natural organic sweetener they could.

The result is a natural sweetener that has received rave reviews because it tastes just
like sugar and can be used for baking or sweetening hot and cold drinks.

Zsweet even digests differently from other sweeteners. It’s absorbed easily, thanks to
the erythritol, and needs minimal digestion. This significantly reduces intestinal
distress and eliminates laxation when used in recommended amounts.

“We’ve also got the backing of doctors, nutritionists and other health professionals,
who all believe that Zsweet is great for anyone looking for a natural, zero calorie
alternative to sugar or artificial sweeteners.”
